We analyze real guest room photos
We use AI to analyze publicly available guest room photos from hotel listings to identify flooring types in rooms — not lobbies, hallways, or staged marketing images. We prioritize scanning popular hotels with established reputations.
Human review for accuracy
If photos are unclear, conflicting, or show multiple room styles, a human reviewer double-checks the classification before it's published. Edge cases are reviewed conservatively to avoid mislabeling.
Clear, easy-to-understand labels
Each hotel receives one verified floor label:
Verified No Carpet
Guest rooms have hard flooring throughout (wood, tile, or vinyl). No wall-to-wall carpet.
Area Rugs
Guest rooms have mostly hard flooring, with limited carpeted areas such as rugs or partial floor coverings (often around or under the bed).
Mixed Room Types
The hotel offers both carpeted and non-carpeted rooms. Floor type depends on the room you book.
Community feedback keeps listings up to date
Hotels renovate and change over time. If a room doesn't match its label, travelers can submit feedback. All reports are reviewed and listings are updated when needed.

Why this matters
Beyond aesthetics, carpet choices impact health and cleanliness.
Allergens & Dust
Carpets can trap dust mites, pet dander, and pollen, making travel difficult for those with allergies or asthma.
Hygiene
Hard floors are easier to sanitize thoroughly between guests. Spills on carpets can linger for years.
Transparency
Hotels often hide floor types in photos. We bring them to the forefront so you know exactly what you're booking.
